Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley “Me Name Jr. Gong/Crazy Baldheads,” Central Park Summerstage 2006

I love this medley by Jr. Gong.  This performance is incredible not only because the medley is pure sickness.  Not only because the audio is perfection.  Not only because it is a flawless and fiery performance…but because he did all of this in front of thousands upon thousands of people at the age of 18!

Yes, I think that “Marley Magic” runs in his blood.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

This performance is featured on the album Marley Magic:  Tribute to Bob Marley (1996), which includes 2 CDs chock full of great performances by the Marley family.

Lion In The Morning

Here is an absolute gem from Julian Marley performed at the NYC Summerstage back in 1996 during the Marley Magic show.  It is a song that has a special personal meaning for me because it’s the first song that my 5 year old son ever began singing, and we sing it in the car all the time.

Notice a young Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley with a wicked skank by the drumset.

In my humble opinion, Julian Marley has what it takes to be reggae’s next universal superstar.

He’s the one…mark my words.
