It has been long rumored that Peter Tosh gave up touring after his performance at the Pulse Superjam which was held on December 31, 1983 in Jamaica. What many may not know is that Tosh embarked on a massive US tour with Afrobeat performer extraordinaire Fela Kuti and Calypso legend Mighty Sparrow in August 1984. The tour kicked off on August 19, 1984 at the Hollywood Bowl. Well, sort of. The August 19, 1984 date was pushed to September because Fela Kuti encountered legal issues in Lagos. The September date and the rest of the tour was canceled because nether Kuti nor Tosh could make the date.

Yes, I believe he finally played the Olympic in November 1986 for the very first KCRW presents.
